Poon Hill gives you delightful views of towering peaks like Mt. Annapurna (26,545ft-8,091m) Mt.Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu, Annapurna South (23,693 ft-7,219m), and Gangapurna (24,457 ft.-7,455m) amongst others.

Annapurna Base Camp lies in the central-western part of Nepal. Blessed with some of the most gorgeous views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range alongside Machhapuchhre, it is the most popular trekking destination in Nepal.This wonderful Annapurna Base Camp trek customized by The  Great Adventure Treks takes you to some of the most picturesque Gurung villages in the Annapurna region. These villages include Ghandruk, Chhomrong, Himalaya, Dobhan, Bamboo etc. From almost all of these villages, you will be able to see some towering mountains of this region.

Mardi Himal is the name given to the feature of the long rising ridge and its summit that from the southwest lower slope of Mount Machhapuchhare(Fishtail), the famous triangular skyline that is seen from the Phewa Lake at Pokhara. As we shall soon see from a closer and more westerly vantage point, the mountain hold win peak – thus its name, Machhapuchhare, which is English means “Fishtail”. Mardi himal trekking is relatively short and easy trek in the Annapurna Region.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara in tourist bus.

Day 03: Pokhara to Nayapuland Trek to Ulleri  (1910m)

Day 04: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani ( 2875m)

Day 05: Ghorepani to Poonhill sunrise view and trek to Tadapani from Ghorepani (2600m) (5-6 hrs)

Day 06: Tadapani to Sinuwa (2360 m) (5-6 hrs)

Day 07: Sinuwa to Deurali (3250m) (6-7 hrs)

Day 08: Deurali to ABC (4130m) (4-5 hrs)

Day 09: ABC to Sinuwa  (6-7 hrs)

Day 10: Sinuwa to Landruk  (5-6 hrs)

Day 11: Landruk to Forest camp (2520m) (4-5 hrs)

Day 12: Forest camp to Badal Dada

Day 13: Badal Dada to High camp (3700m) (3-4 hrs)

Day 14: High camp to View point and Back to Badal Danda  (5-6 hrs)

Day 15: Badal Danda to kalimati

(1700m) (5-6 hrs)

Day 16: Kalimati to Pokhara via Lumre 1hr 30 minutes walk , 2hr 20 min drive to Pokhara

Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.

You will arrive at the international airport in Kathmandu, Nepal- Tribhuvan International Airport. Our representatives from The Great Adventure Treks will meet you outside the airport terminal. They will then help you to transfer to your hotel. You can also find all the relevant information about the hotel you will be staying with your guide. The guide will also brief you about your trek as well as other related information about the trek.

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara (820m) 6 – 7 hrs journey

You will head out to the awesome valley of the Pokhara. You will head out to the touristic paradise called Pokhara on a 6-7 hour bus drive from Kathmandu. This bus ride is scenic as you get to see some lovely hills along the way. And in between the hills, there are gushing rivers that flow. These rivers flow out of the Himalayas. You can also have the first glimpses of mountains although they are quite far.

Day 03: Drive to Nayapul (1070m) trek to Ulleri 4-5 hrs walk

Today, there will be a mixture of a bus drive and a trek. First, you will head out to Nayapul (1070 meters). This ride is quite pleasant and lasts 2 hours only. Nayapul is also where many trekkers gather to trek. This is the entry point to many other treks like Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Khopra Danda Trek, Mardi Himal trek and plenty other in this region. After that, you will go to Ulleri on a 4-5 hours trek.

Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani (2860m) 6 – 7 hrs walk.

You will head out to the place with the largest rhododendron forests today. This place is called Ghorepani. It will take about 6-7 hours, for you to reach Ghorepani(2860 meters). The first part of your trek will take you along an uphill ride to Ulleri. The walk up to Ulleri is around 2 hours long and exclusively uphill. From Ulleri, you will walk around 4 hours or so to get to Ghorepani. Ghorepani is set beautifully amidst the mountains of the Annapurna region. It also has close access to Poon Hill, which is an awesome hill station in the Annapurna region.

Day 05: Hike to Poon Hill(3210m) for sunrise and trek to Tadapani (2630m) 6 – 7 hrs walk.

Today, you will wake up early in the morning, This is because you will head out to Poon Hill before the sun is up. You will trek around 1 hour or so before you reach Poon Hill(3210 meters). The trail to Poon Hill is almost elusively full of stairs. After you reach there, you will get to see glorious views of mountains like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre etc. You will also get to see some staggering sunrise views from there.

After that, you will descend to your teahouse in Ghorepani for having breakfast. After that, you will head out to another picturesque village called Tadapani(2630 meters). The trek to Tadapani is about 4-5 hours long. This makes today’s trek of 6-7 hours long. You will pass some uphills and downhills along the way. You will also pass some rhododendron forests along the way giving you glimpses of some beautiful flora and fauna of the Annapurna region.

Day 06: Tadapani to Sinuwa (2360 m) (5-6 hrs)

Our trail passes through lush forest dotted with the red rhododendrons. The flowers are a common sight in Nepalese hills and it is no surprise that its Nepal’s national flower. Our destination for today is Sunuwa. We will reach there in 5 to 6 hours.

Day 07: Sinuwa to Deurali (3250m) (6-7 hrs)

We continue to walk through dense forests admiring Nepal’s rich biodiversity and reach the low camp. From here, the fantastic view of Mt. Machapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail) up the valley is mesmerizing. We can spend some time in the evening observing the local lifestyle. Overnight at Deurali.

Day 08: Deurali to ABC (4130m) (4-5 hrs)

An hour walk from Deurali and Climb gently through a river bed then over a steep trail over to the mountain side. The hike from Bagar to Machhapuchhre Base Camp is somewhat strenuous. From Machhapuchhre base camp, we get excellent views of the majestic Machhapuchhre along with Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli and Gangapurna which is certainly a rewarding experience. The vegetation disappears on our way to ABC and the path widens as we enter the Annapurna sanctuary. From here, we get sensational views of the near-vertical south face of Annapurna towering above us. The sanctuary boasts of a dynamic view without anything impeding the 360-degree panorama. From the base camp we again get to savor mesmerizing views of the Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli and other peaks. Overnight at Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 09: ABC to Sinuwa  (6-7 hrs)

From the Annapurna base camp, we retrace our steps to Sinuwa. Today’s trek is downhill, so it shouldn’t be very difficult. Besides, we will always have the company of the extraordinary landscape to cheer us up. Overnight in Sinuwa.

Day 10: Sinuwa to Landruk  (5-6 hrs)

Today’s walk from Sinuwa to Landruk  is 5-6 hours long. The walk initially leads through some beautiful forests of the ACAP region.

Day 11: Landruk to Forest camp (2520m) (4-5 hrs)

Our trail passes through lush forest dotted with the red rhododendrons. The flowers are a common sight in Nepalese hills and it is no surprise that its Nepal’s national flower. Our trail is very quiet until we reach a clearing of the forest camp. We can take rest and explore the area which is also known locally as Kokar. Overnight in Forest Camp.

Day 12: Forest camp to Badal Dada

We continue to walk through dense forests admiring Nepal’s rich biodiversity and reach the low camp. From here, the fantastic view of Mt. Machapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail) up the valley is mesmerizing. We can spend some time in the evening observing the local lifestyle. Overnight in Badal Dada.

Day 13: Badal Dada to High camp (3700m) (3-4 hrs)

We trek uphill alongside a ridge towards Mardi Himal and Macchhapuchhre. The tree lines start getting thinner and the area mostly consists of shrubs with isolated rhododendron bushes along the trail. If lucky, we might even come across the Daphne pheasant (national bird of Nepal) on our way to high camp. We ascend up to the high camp, which the final destination of the day. From here the mountain views are stunning. Overnight in high camp.

Day 14: High camp to View point and Back to Badal Danda  (5-6 hrs)

On our trek to the upper viewpoint we ascend and descend, and sometimes on a steep and narrow trail. Our trail passes through pastures and we hike along a narrow ridge before reaching the Upper Viewpoint. The view of the Himalayan vista from here is astonishing. We see Mardi Himal (5587m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna south (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Baraha Shikhar (Mt. Fang) (7647m), Tent Peak (5695m), Singhachuli (6501m), Machapuchhre (6993m) and others. We trek back to the Badal Dada for an overnight stay.

Day 15: Badal Danda to Kalimati

We continue our trek from Badal Danda to Kalimati. We will stay overnight in Kalimati.

Day 16: Kalimati to Pokhara via Lumre 1hr 30 minutes walk , 2hr 20 min drive to Pokhara

The final part of the trek is a lovely trek from Kalimati to Lumre and then drive back to Pokhara from there.

Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara

On this day, you will drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. The route of the bus takes you along the beautiful, scenic hills along with sights of Trisuli and Marsyangdi River. It is also possible for you to catch views of Ganesh Himal and the Manaslu peak during this bus ride. After a ride of 6-7 hours from Pokhara, you will reach Kathmandu.

You can go for some last minute shopping in Thamel to buy some souvenirs or other items you might need. We will also organize a farewell dinner for you for a successful completion of your trek.
