Nepal, on top of the world!

Monday August 27th, 2007 by Daniëlle

Our flight from India to Nepal was very exhausting, due to the enormous chaos we encountered at the airport of Varanasi. Believe me, we have not seen anything like this during our trip around the world! The check-in counter opened too late, which caused people pushing and shoving eachother, because there were too many people with too much luggage and therefore not enough space. After a lot of manual checks and other stuff the plane departed too late, which did not really surprise us. After a short flight the relaxing atmosphere and organisation at the airport of Kathmandu was quite a relief. The visa we were able to achieve easily for 24 euros.

Both Edvar and I were kind of exhausted, due to our trip in India. In Nepal we let us be taken to a hotel the “Pilgrim Guest House” by some guy we met at the airport. Since the hotel was nice and Bhupendra seemed like a trustworthy guy, we decided to book our complete trip in Nepal and our grouptrip towards Tibet (which you have to do through a travelagency anyway) with the same guy (Bhupendra Adhikari, The Great Adventure Treks & Expeditions). To be honest it is kind of nice to travel in an “organised” way for a while.

The Nepalese people are really friendly and they really know customer service and Nepal is a cheap travel destination. Until now we really enjoy travelling in Nepal and Nepal might end up as the second best country on our trip around the world (Canada is still number one). Nature is wonderfull and although there are some similarities compared to India, Nepal is a lot nicer and quieter.........see more from Edvar Van Daalen & Danielle Horenberg's website www.continenthoping.com

It is hard to articulate how lucky and thankful I am that  I walked into The Great Adventure Office from the first moment and first cup of tea I was treated with respect and honesty. There are so many trekking companies in KTM, it is almost impossible to know who to trust, my instinct, after visiting countless agencies, told me Prakash would make my trip memorable. He far and away exceeded my expectations; I first did the Annapurna Circuit Trek, what a way to first see Nepal! My guide was Rajan, he made me feel night at home and gave me such an “inside” look at the scenery and Culture, I was then supposed to leave Nepal and travel to China. However I had such a great time on my first trek, I decided to stay and climb the Island Peak and do an Everest region trek. Prakash custom scheduled a trip for me. In a word, it was amazing! Again, Rajan was my guide for the trek. Ang Dawa was my climbing guide. I cannot say enough how much fun Island Peak Was. I have been traveling for quite a while and Prakash and Great Adventure  are truly the capstore of my trip. Please feel free to email  me with any questions or more info. Id love to talk about my adventures!

Dear Potential Trekker,

We came to Kathmandu to do the Everest Base Camp Trek and we went to a few trekking companies before coming to The Great Adventure Trekking we felt so confident about going trekking with these guys so we booked the next day. we met our guide and porter that night and then we were on our way. we had a fantastic time on the trek and we are so glad we had a guide and the porter. we learnt so much more about our surrroundings and the culture than we would have an our own. we didnt have any hassles finding lodges and food because it was all arranged for us.

This was our first big trek and we will definately come back to Nepal and trek with these guys again!! the whole trek was amazing(although hard work!!). The scenery, the people, the guide and the porter made our trip one we will never forget!

Thanks to everyone at Great Adventure

Buddhas rapping Group

We were not sure what to expect as far as walking, Scenery, and food/accomodation. But we can not say enough positive things about our organised trek, we got to see and experience everything possible on the Jomsom track.

Our guide + porter, Buddha + Sun Dip were exceptional and very accomodation Buddah has a fantastic personality and had us laughing for most of the trip, he taught us basic language + culture on our trek which makes experience all that much better.
We had also only very positive things to say about Great Adventure Company as it made us feel very organised, both before we arrived + once we arrieved, it is a very proffessional company, and we will be recomending it to all our friends interested to come to Nepal.

Thanks For Everthing.

Trekers,

If you are reading this then you are one lucky human ! Prakash and the boys at The Great Adventure Treks & Exp. really know their stuff.

Me and my buddy Kyle were lucky enough to stumble upon this opportunity early in our first Nepal trip. We went out on the Annapurna trail and did one of the best trekking i've ever done in my life. I have been trekking all over the U.S. for years but none of it compores to the stuff we did here. The viens, heights, people, and ambiance are really unlike any other place on earth. Also, when you have an awesome guide, like we did with Rajendra, you'll truely be able to take in everything the Nepali way. I feel very fortunate to have treked with Great Adventure and if I come back, I should say When i come back I'll definately be contacting them again. I suggest you book with them, you wont be displeased I wish you the best of luck on your treck and urge you to place your trust in Prakash and Rajendra, they're stand up dudes.

Sincerely,
